An Introduction to Rushlight Media from Kat

White Paper

Hi, friends.

Welcome to my blog. It means a lot that you’re here.

WHAT’S ALL THIS, THEN?

Between academia and marketing, I’ve spent nearly two decades doing the same few things:

  1. writing and talking about writing
  2. helping people develop their writing
  3. traveling with my husband, Dennis
  4. working in systems that didn’t serve me

Rushlight Media is my attempt to do more of items 1-3 and

less of item number 4. Just a little life rebranding.

OKAY, BUT WHAT EXACTLY WILL I BE DOING?

All these things:

  • Helping people edit and self publish their books
  • Helping businesses with blogs and social content
  • Helping people develop their style and processes

But here’s the one I’m most excited about:

  • Helping people to write their memoirs

When I mention my profession in conversation, I’ve had dozens of folks tell me that they “wish they could write” because they have big memories, lessons, and experiences to share with the world. Sometimes folks just need the nudge and encouragement to write, other times they prefer to speak their stories and have someone else put it in writing. Either way, I want to help make it a reality.

Memoirs are not a luxury that should only be afforded to celebrities and millionaires. Everyone has stories to share. Of course, we all have budgets, too, and because writing is time consuming and artful, a service such as memoir ghostwriting doesn’t always fit into them. That’s why it’s really important to me that my services can be gifted to someone. After all, what gift could be kinder than the expressed intention to hear and immortalize a loved one’s memories? It’s a kindness that I would be honored to take part in.

So, as you think about the people in your life, especially those who might not have long to share their stories, please keep me in mind as birthdays and holidays approach.

Stay tuned for updates about what I’m working on or how I’m thinking about things, or please reach out if you have questions.

Thanks for reading.
